Great success of the Cancun Travel Forum on tourism 4.0

The second edition of the Cancun Travel Forum 2018, organized by and for the benefit of the Ciudad de la Alegría Foundation, which took place on September 20 and 21 at the Hotel Iberostar in Cancun, brought together 18 executives from large national tourism companies and international in the fields of: Tourism, Technology, Economy, Hospitality, Communication and Commercial Area.

The event kicked off with the presence of 700 attendees between government authorities, business chambers, education sector and civil society. The 18 leaders of world-class companies such as Airbnb, Amazon, Microsoft, PayPal, Uber, BBVA Bancomer and Roiback, among others, spoke mainly about the current situation in the tourism sector, and about how technology is constantly transforming the environment, which means that you need to be prepared for a growth thought on people and sustainability.

The funds raised during the event will be destined to 13 homes and programs of the Ciudad de la Alegria Foundation, in order to improve the quality of life of more than 44,000 persons needy in the Riviera Maya region.

In Roiback we didn’t want to miss the date of this noble cause and we participated very actively during the two days. Our entire team from Mexico was present at all the interesting presentations during the congress, and also on the presentation of our Head of Americas & New Markets Developments, Toni Omañas. We also had presence at an attractive stand located in the event’s display room, in order to present our brand and to greet some of our collaborators and friends from the area.

Toni, as usual, didn’t leave anyone indifferent. In his magnificent talk, he spoke about the new challenges that are transforming the hotel sector in the digital age and how to face and take advantage of all these changes that are taking place. Having an optimal and powerful mobile solution, investing adequately in digital marketing campaigns to get more quality traffic or retain customers visiting our hotel, were some of the issues on which Toni deepened and gave the keys to success.
